Who to call if your lights go out in the Hudson Valley.
By Vanessa Saunders, MBA, MIMC , Broker Owner, Global Property Systems Real Estate.
If the lights go out during the predicted snow storm tonite, don’t call Orange and Rockland or your whoever your electrical service provider is until:
1. You’ve checked to be sure one of your breakers or fuses hasn’t tripped or blown. Check your electrical box first to see if all is well.
2. You have your information ready: name, address, phone (land line if possible, (save that cell phone battery), AND your power company account number (find it on an old bill or invoice.)
3. Are ready to tell your utility company the exact location of any hazardous conditions (trees on lines, downed utility poles, damaged transformers etc.)
4. Have the names and addresses of anyone you know using electrically operated life-sustaining equipment.
THEN CALL YOUR ELECTRICAL SERVICE DELIVERY COMPANY:
