Move me out of New York City!

Rockland County, NY is closer than ever to qualifying for re-opening of non-essential businesses. Based on guidelines mandated by the state and drawn up by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Rockland has met four out of the seven criteria. The Mid-Hudson region as a whole has five of seven criteria met.
This is good news for residents itching to get out of the quarantine, and businesses eager to serve them. And no businesses are more eager than Realtors. Until now, real estate in the region has had little choice but to find ways to transact business within social distancing guidelines. (Thank goodness for Zoom!)
The real estate drums are rumbling because Rockland is currently one of the Mid-Hudson Valley counties in the bullseye of buyers from New York City. An increasing number of New Yorkers are anxious to leave NYC to escape the Covid-19 pandemic. Some are looking for short term rentals, while a surprising number want out for good. Short term luxury rentals at sky-high prices are popping up all over the region. We recently leased a 4-bedroom waterfront contemporary on River Road in Piermont, NY for a whopping $10,000 a month.
Buyers interested in leaving the Big Apple can search Mid-Hudson NY, Rockland and any of the other six counties (Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester) for homes for sale or rent by using our free search site.
