Cruise with Virgin and leave the blow dryer at home!

Better watch out Carnival Cruise Lines! Richard Branson has you in his cross hairs as his new cruise line, Virgin Voyages is set to launch in April next year. Among a slew of new luxury amenities, the adults-only cruise line plans to offer an on-demand champagne delivery service for mobile users. Just shake your cell phone while using the Virgin Voyages Sailor App, and you can request a bottle of Möet Chandon Impérial for delivery anywhere aboard the Scarlet Lady cruise ship. The champagne will be delivered in a Virgin-branded ice bucket along with two glasses. (It hasn't been announced yet what would happen if you accidentally went dancing with your phone in your pocket.)

Virgin Voyages, a joint venture between Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Bain Capital, is aimed at young adults who want an alternative to Disney-style cruises for families or vacations for retirees. To appeal to this demographic, the Scarlet Lady has amenities including spas, an outdoor gym, boxing ring, fitness classes, karaoke rooms, nightclub, tattoo parlor, and for those who may be hair-dryer handicapped, a blow-dry bar.
Since they announced their adults-only cruise in January 2019, Virgin Voyages has been shaking up the industry. Instead of offering buffet-style dining like most ships do, the Scarlet Lady will feature more than 20 dining options for guests, all included in the price of their cruise. The ship also doesn’t force guests to wear formal wear, and won’t have assigned seating or dining times.
The cruise line will also have a “no-tipping” policy, including a standard gratuity in the overall price.
The Scarlet Lady’s inaugural four-night sailing for guests 18 and older will take place in April 2020, and will travel from Miami to Key West and Virgin’s private Bimini Beach Club in the Bahamas. Future sailings begin at $1,300 per stateroom.
And you can leave your blow-dryer at home.
